1902 Historic Bungalow

Denver, Colorado

-THE DESIGN CHALLENGE-

This client came to us looking to reimagine the most used room in her 1902 historic bungalow. The challenge was striking a balance between honoring the home’s antique character and introducing a more modern, livable feel. This space needed to do it all: host friends and family, support everyday lounging and casual meals, and remain pet-friendly without feeling overly precious.

Preserving the soul of the home was key. We layered in meaningful heirloom pieces to celebrate its history, then softened the space with feminine, clean-lined furnishings and a calming palette. The goal was a room that feels serene and elevated, yet approachable and durable.

Every choice was made with real life in mind, including durability and materials that could stand up to a curious cat (a priority you may notice thanks to our special guest appearing in many of the photos). The result: a true cool-down space that supports real life while respecting the timeless nature of the home.
